Pounce & Wingspan

This was a fun little thing I started forever ago when I was in teh middle of moving and sorta squatting at my girlfriend's old place. Didn't have the ability to take decent pictures then they were forgotten about as we moved to a real place. I found them recently in teh bottom of a box, finished them up and here they are!

I loved these guys as a kid. Finding decent figures to make them into modern versions was something I had wanted for a very long time so these toys make me VERY happy.

I'll admit that I'm not super familiar with this character but when I saw this mold it was what sprang to mind. Almost entirely because of the chest but it's also nice to have a version of the guy that can stand under his own weight. The original Rampage mold is nice and all but it's has a LOT going on behind him.

So this is something a tad different. Taking a classic character and giving him a robot mode which he has NEVER had before. If anything can be said about this custom it's that I had a ton of fun with teh colors. They are just so very striking. High contrast with each other but, here in the US, those colors are super heroic thus feeding the ego of Sky-Lynx even further.

Vector Prime 2.0

Well this was a long time coming. A lot of people saw this guy at Botcon and I'm happy to say he had many fans. He's kinda my baby as I really love painting this figure. This time though I started with the Hasbro version of the mold, all white plastic, and airbrushed it with Testor's Metalizer paint. It's a type of paint that creates a metal finish without the metal flakes of regular paints. THe finish is REALLY worth it. Toss in some pretty cool gold detailing and this guy pops to life. I had fun with the blue highlights as well.

Botcon 2013 Aftermath

So I had my table in the artist's alley of Botcon and guess what? IT WAS A BLAST!!! And why was it so much fun? The honest truth is you guys. It was really great meeting some many people, new and old, and chatting and hanging out. It was just effing great! You guys made my weekend. I still have some pics of the event to dig up.

In the meantime I have some leftovers to sell. I cleared most of the stuff I brought but there are a few items left... with the big one going up later tonight or tomorrow. For now though...
